Bittersweet

I've made a video for someone but YouTube can't upload the video. I don't know. It's not a good day but I'm having a good night.

Laughing out loud.

I got this lyrics from a song:

"if I never get to heaven then at least I will have known
I had an angel here on earth that I could call my very own

and if this world should end tomorrow, girl this much I know is true
I found my piece of heaven the day that I found you"

That is the whole chorus of the song but I really won't tell you the title. you search for it. It is also the song I used for - that video presentation I made for someone.

Max Payne: Payne & Redemption

Guys, this is the time I've been waiting for. They are already creating the movie of my top favorite video game. I mean the greatest video game of the new millenium - Max Payne.

For more information about the forthcoming movie, please visit www.payneandredemption.com

I would also keep you guys updated if I got some news about the movie release because right not they are still having problems with production but hopefully we would all see it soon on the big screen. I've been a big fan of the video game and I have finished the Max Payne 1 on its PC Version and Max Payne: The Fall of Max Payne on its Playstation 2 format so I am really excited about the movie.

New Video

I made a video using Windows Movie Maker as a tribute to all couples away during this HALLOWEEN VACATION.

I would just explain the whole video in my next posts as well as the poem I have made specifically for this video.

The song is a remake of the Carole King song "So Far Away". The band is BAMBOO. I hope you will like the editing as well as the pictures I have compiled from PHOTO BUCKET.

Enjoy and feel free to comment

P.S: I'm afraid I have included typographical errors. There is a line there which say "so close yes so far". It should be "so close YET so far".

I haven't blog for the past days because I've been busy of my school works.

I just want to greet everyone a HAPPY HALLOWEEN and HAPPY VACATION to everyone. It's sad to say I can't go home to BICOL because I have so many things to do here in Manila. I wish I could blog again regularly.

PBA New Era

The 33rd season of the Philippine Basketball Association, the first play-for-pay league in Asia has kicked-off last Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum with some new additions on the country's best basketball league.

I have been a basketball enthusiast since my childhood days and up to now it has been really one of my wildest ambition to be a basketball player even though I'm short of certain physical attributes like height so all I can do is watch basketball games in front of my television. I've seen them all, from NBA to US NCAA to our very own PBA(live) and UAAP. My mother and I have been fanatics of Alvin Patrimonio during my early days and now there are some inheritance going on with James Yap glamorous play(those fan enthusiasm and no-airhead play as well as both players have been linked to Kris Aquino). I've seen how the PBA have had its golden years and its downfall and how the players changed their strategies from season-to-season.

Now, PBA boasts its Philippine Cup(even though the first pick of the last 3 seasons are all Filipino-Americans) opener with some rule changes along with executive changes and here are some of those new additions to the PBA.

NEW Commissioner:

After the morality issues of former PBA Commissioner Noli Eala, he has been replaced by a former PBA executive and now the new officer-in-charge Sonny Barrios. Eala has done so much for the PBA. We've seen how he managed to take charge of a league already on its downfall and then back to a stable condition. I think it is the first challenge for Sonny Barrios as now new head of the league.

NEW Players:

PBA teams beefed-up their rosters during the 2007 Annual Draft by putting some really promising college players from both the UAAP and NCAA led by Joe Devance from the PBL as Welcoat's top pick. Though the issue of citizenship of many of its players would never be erased from the league history, these Filipino-American players must prove that they have the skills not only those physical skills but the moral decency as well as proper behaviors.

NEW Rules:

The PBA adopted some of the rules used in FIBA tournaments to prepare its players for international competition as well as to give the fans a more exciting game play. Some of the new rules are:

-The PBA 3-point line has been shortened to FIBA's 20 feet line. This means that shots made beyond the blue line would be considered as a triple. As a result, I've seen the game opener of Air21 and Magnolia and it produced a more scoring opportunities for both teams especially those with players who has those long range capabilities. Expect a game to end reaching century-mark scores like what we saw on Sunday and expect players to have those Kobe Bryant mentality like what KG Canaleta of Air 21 did last Sunday. It would be a shooting parade the whole season. I think this rule is advantageous to those teams who have a lot of guards in their rotation because guards are used to have that long-range mentality. It's just too bad for those teams who are used to playing defensively using the zone defense as this rule would tempt players to shoot more beyond the arc. James Yap, RenRen Ritualo and Mark Caguioa sure loves this rule.

-"The Paint" is now trapezoidal in shape from the traditional rectangular meaning there would be a wider space for those big men like Asi Taulava of Talk N' Text and the two Danny's of Magnolia. We would really now be able to see who could dominate the paint more in a physical game but the disadvantage is that the "No Parking" zone area or the 3-second violation is prone to this rule. To adjust to this certain rule, players must now start moving more quickly and freely around the floor. I think this rule adds more physicality to the basketball game as what Purefoods and Sta. Lucia did in their game earlier where in there has been 9 technical fouls and 2 players were thrown out of the game.

-The "controlled hand check" is now allowed to speed up the game which I think will be advantageous to those shooting guards as they have the capability to take over games. Expect a fast-paced action packed game in the next weeks of the league.

Anyways, teams would try to adjust primarily on these rules to adopt it to their basketball system and a new brand of play would be seen in the league.

Battle of the Fixers: ZTE NBN

This time, I would like to post something about the very critical issue of the proposed National Broadband Network project of the government as part of its plan to make a cyber-corridor in the country.

I won't tackle anything about the controversy but I would prefer the project much as a focus because with all the things and accusations going on right now with those different people involved from brokers to fixers to media people and senators, I believe in what Senator Joker Arroyo told during the investigation that the whole thing is a "battle of the fixers". I mean if you would try to look at the situation of any controversies that sprung up in our country from the 2004 elections to the Nursing Exam leak and now the ZTE NBN deal, those who lost and cannot accept defeats would always end up as the whistle blowers telling the people that they wanted to be an instrument of change for the system and all those things but what the people does not know is that they are already used to that kind of system and they have been practicing that. I tell you, whether what kind of citizen you are of this country, I know your used to it or if not- your blinded by it.

Regarding the national broadband project, here is my simple opinion about the thing.

I've been using the internet since I was in my first year high school at home when somebody offered to install a dial up connection on my then PC so probably I've tried it all. From dial up, yeah those cards you scratched up like prepaid where in I could only buy them if I go to Naga City before it became available at our own market and up to those DSL they are advertising on television, I've used them all. I've already known what is best and what is the fastest among those providers. I tell you, I've been to different and hundreds of internet cafe's here in the metro and whether what type of internet provider they are using, they probably offer the same thing-internet connection at your fingertips.

You may say that DSL or broadband has been God's mercy to the technology world but I tell you, when things got screwed up while you are doing something on the internet, things would get a little scripted. Yeah, like those in movies wherein people have the same words. What I'm trying to say is that no matter what the provider you are subscribing to, when the connection messed up, you'll hear the same lines from them. Examples are "sir, we are currently having a technical problem", "sir, we are currently experiencing problems on our base station", "sir, could you please wait for 15 minutes before you connect to the internet again because we are currently having our service maintenance right now". Come on, you have probably heard one of those crappy lines those customer service representatives have been telling their customers for almost 8 hours in their day-to-day lives. Those providers do the best advertisements in the television with all those propaganda techniques in order for them to let people believe that theirs is fast but the customer service and manpower have always been the same whether you are using SMART Bro, Globe Broadband, PLDT MyDSL, and so on and so forth.

My point is that regarding the national broadband project, it would be the same if not worse. The service that the government would render to its customers which are mainly students as they proposed would be the question especially that they are as I say "government people". What if something went wrong while those public school students are accessing the internet, then what would happen? Are they going to call you and how fast would you be able to respond to the student's needs? Are you going to fix a simple technical glitch with an under the table expense? How about the issue on red tape? Is it applicable in the service you would provide especially that it has been practiced in all those government agencies we have right now?

The problem in this idea of the government is the trust and mentality of the people about the government itself. The first thing they should take into consideration is how they could provide the service in the good of all those people involved. How they would anticipate uncommon things must be taken into consideration especially that this is a very ambitious plan. In the end, whether this project succeed or not, it is the literacy of the people that is sacrificed in all these controversies. The goal of improving the education and beefing up knowledge is a great idea but the idea would always end up in question of how.

Dream

A Nyoy Volante remake of the Basil Valdez hit Kahit Ika'y Panaginip Lamang.

I made the editing of the video as well as the lyrics a year ago because I love how his voice blends with the acoustic piano.

Out of nowhere, I this song came into my mind last night while I couldn't sleep due to my bad sleeping habits. I just love the whole lyrics of this song. A real ballad.

Sound Check

You're The Inspiration
Dianne Elise

A remake of the popular Chicago hit by a Filipina upcoming artist. It has a very soothing sound and perfect while you are on a long travel or journey

Vamos

About 15 years ago, this handsome looking man stepped into the boxing ring and made a name for himself. He has beaten great names in the boxing world earning him so much fame and fortune that he was called as the "baby face assassin of boxing".

Then one day, this former poor peasant from General Santos, Philippines named Manny Pacquiao who is also a struggling boxer that time challenged him in a match in San Antonio, Texas.

The boxing legend and future hall of fame member Marco Antonio Barrera jokingly accepted the challenge and they boxed in Alamodome only to found out that what is supposed to be a tune-up match for Barrera's high-profile boxing career ended up in an 11 round TKO of the Mexican warrior falling to Manny Pacquiao in what is said to be the downfall of the illustrious career of the Mexican legend but also the rising to fame moment for the Filipino fighter.

Discontented with result of his first battle with the now Filipino boxing icon, the Mexican warrior now challenged Pacquiao in what he said to be the farewell match to his illustrious boxing career with over 70 total fight of 63 wins and 42 by knock-outs. The rematch has been set to October 6, 2007 in Las Vegas, USA.

In front of 10,000 plus jam-packed crowd in attendance and millions watching around the world, Marco Antonio Barrera battled head-to-head with Manny Pacquiao ended in a gruelling 12 round battle ending in a unanimous decision in favor of the Filipino boxer.

An exhausted Marco Antonio Barrera was outboxed several times by the Filipino boxer ending his career in a loss yet with his signature dirty trick of a cheap shot later in the 11th round of the match.

What Barrera did not know is that those 2 fists of Manny Pacquiao is a resemblance of the 82 million people who is supporting him at his back that is why he ended up messy and bloody.

The cheap shot proved worthless as Barrera just hold on to finish the fight and avoid a knock down yet he finished wounded and bloody.

Finally, the boxing legend expressed his retirement on what he called as the beautiful sport. The only thing that matters now is, Manny Pacquiao proves that Barrera is "baby face no more".

The Desperate Show

"Listen, Susan,
I know for a lot of women the word `menopause'
has negative connotations.
You hear `aging,' `brittle bones,' `loss of sexual desire,'""
her gynecologist tells her.

"OK, before we go any further,
can I check these diplomas?
Just to make sure they aren't,
like, from some med school in the Philippines?"

I am a nursing student so I think I have the right to talk about this issue. I really fumed about those lines above when I heard it on the morning news of "Umagang Kay Ganda" of ABS-CBN. I believe that the whole production team of the ABC's show "Desperate Housewives" are really insane, insensitive and stupid fags. How come that such shows like that did not even try to research that there are many health professionals in the United States who are Filipinos, top-of-the-line Filipino doctors, nurses and medical practitioners who are taking care of their lame ass because many of their geriatric people can't even wipe their own ass. Maybe it's time for me to believe that the reason why The United States are in need of some medical professionals because the insane, stupids, psychotics, pathetic and the out-of-their-own-mind people have already outnumbered the sane population of that country.

The show is racist! The whole country is demanding the Department of Foreign Affairs of our country to do something about this racist people. Come on neighbor DFA, do your job.

And to you Teri Hatcher, go back to your graveyard-you living skeleton bitch!

The Beginning

I am now officially advertising and promoting my blog around the net and as a primer, here is a video dedicated to start the whole process.

This is the beginning of all the sensible and whatever futile news I will put here.

this is the beginning of our story.

I was glad to hear again the song Puff, the Magic Dragon over the internet earlier this evening after almost a decade that I have missed that magnificent song. The first time it was introduced to me was through a Karaoke and I was saddened by the event that happened to the boy at the end of the song.

Earlier, I have researched over the internet about the history of the song and its successes. It was just sad to say that many interpreted that Peter, Paul & Mary hit as to with association with drugs or marijuana. But I don't believe those rumors. That song is a product of pure genius and anyone who have heard that song maybe 10 or 15 years ago would surely be teary-eyed once he or she heard that song again today. It is a very nostalgic song that talks about how we become children with wild imaginations. How we think of when we are still children and how we develop consciousness. It is not about drugs but it is about happiness and nostalgia. I list that song as one of my most favorite of all time.
